Sustainable Design
Our in-house environmental engineering expertise drives our journey in the right direction, reducing the need for over-elaborate service systems, helping to lower energy costs for the end-user. The use of high-end design tools helps us analyse the impact our projects have on their environmental context, shaping our sustainability philosophy. Our clients enjoy the visual representation of our analysis, allowing them to seamlessly make decisions effectively.
We offer expert sustainability guidance throughout our projects, as we understand the requirements of BREEAM, LEED and BEAM, and how they impact design.
We collaborate with leaders across the environmental design industry. By sharing our 3D CAD models, this encourages thorough testing of the design before construction begins. The use of advanced technology here creates valuable opportunities to refine our buildings, improve performance and use resources efficiently. We believe that we each have a shared responsibility. We make sure to identify where we feel we can add to the quality of the project and enjoy the diversity that this brings to our work. Above all, we are passionate about what we do, and as a result, we bring enjoyment and dedication to work every day.
The astudio modular housing product is designed to touch the ground lightly, providing the potential for off-grid urban living. This intends to ‘Code for Sustainable Homes’ level 4 and Passivhaus energy performance standards, reducing the environmental footprint of the development. The system uses existing methods of manufacture and construction, which allows for testing and guarantees environmental performance in a factory setting, as well as reducing material waste and energy in the fabrication process.
