East Wick and Sweetwater system design
astudio have developed a housing system on behalf of Places for People to enable the rapid design and construction of high quality homes. This system can be used for all tenure type across the residential sector. These include Outright Market Sale, Private Rental Sector (PRS) and Affordable homes.
This advanced system has been tested for the masterplan developed for East Wick and Sweetwater, since this initial phase the system has been further developed to provide the increasing need of housing for the communities in which we build.
The guide is designed to provide involved architects with a step by step set of instructions on how to best utilise the system.
The collaboration between astudio and Etude led to the development of a series of tools based on computational design techniques, which have established a first layer of information to further develop flat layouts from both spatial and environmental points of view.
Some of these tools are intended to become available to the plot architects, to inform and test thei design, progressively adjusting it towards the best possible architectural and environmental solution to meet the brief requirements.
