The Weave

Our design blends contemporary ideas with the local basket weaving culture courageously providing a striking new architecture.

This high-end residential tower in Hong Kong is designed to maximise the value of the site by building the largest floorplates at the greatest height.

Using the site’s orientation, we have developed a form that twists to allow the homes to face the greatest long-view distances. The higher units face south towards the harbour, and the uppermost units get a 360-degree view, meaning the units increase in value with height.

The building rotates its accommodation around a green vertical park.  The terraces are screened by a series of vertical glass tubes containing Algae. Waste CO² is passed through the tubes, where it reacts with the algae and in turn produces Biodiesel, which can be used to power the plant. The building is designed to ensure the highest standards of sustainable design are met, to ensure it is able to achieve a LEED Platinum rating.
